THE PLEDGE ASK
We’re asking organisations to pledge to develop, document and implement a Positive Procurement Policy to govern all purchasing decisions by 31 December 2020 (if not already). By taking the pledge, your organisation is committed to following the three-year road map below:
YEAR TWO
PROMOTE IT
(to 31 December 2019)
Workshop with your supply chain to introduce them to your new Positive Procurement Policy and discuss their role in this strategy
Refine your Positive Procurement Policy
Demonstrate an improvement in ecolabel procurement*
Participate in a confidential GECA survey
Continue to update your Positive Procurement Pledge case study
Inform GECA of at least 3 products that your organisation would like to see independently certified
Continue to monitor and evaluate identified sustainability hotspots and note any improvements. Revise your Positive Procurement Policy accordingly. Report progress confidentially to GECA
Participate in at least 2 Positive Procurement Pledge networking events and/or webinars

Disclose your current percentage of ecolabel procurement*
Purchase the ISO 20400 International Standard for Sustainable Procurement and workshop with relevant staff within your organisation
Review your existing procurement policy or develop a new Positive Procurement Policy
Join and participate in GECA’s LinkedIn Positive Procurement Pledge Group and sign up for the GECA Newsletter
